Could the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 be inspired by the development of a successful game series?!

A senior CD Projekt Red official explained that the upcoming sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 aims to emulate the development of The Witcher series.

A senior CD Projekt Red official spoke about how Cyberpunk 2077 Part 2 mimics the evolution of The Witcher series. This sneak peek at the upcoming RPG comes 13 months after the studio confirmed that another Cyberpunk 2077 game, codenamed Orion, was in the works.

With the recent release of the critically acclaimed Phantom Liberty, CDPR has exhausted projects that are close to completion and is now refocusing on long-term efforts such as the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and the fourth entry in The Witcher franchise.

The second part of Cyberpunk 2077 will try to imitate the development of The Witcher series. This is according to CDPR’s Narrative Director, Igor Szarzynski, who told PC Gamer in a recent interview. To clarify this matter, the official confirmed that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings provided a radically different experience from the first part of the series. Which, however, was transformed once again by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CDPR “Like evolution” Szarzynski explained that there are conflicts between Cyberpunk and the next successor.

“A few things [a Cyberpunk 2077-ben] The art, city design, music, interactive scene system, and gameplay worked almost instantly. Szarzynski said, noting that the upcoming sequel may leave these elements somewhat intact.

The leveling system and NPC interaction could also return without major changes, with the official saying that CDPR is happy with its current state, while admitting that both took some time to “get it right.”

As a reminder, these aspects of the game were last updated in September 2023. Then the developer released the massive 2.0 update for the game. The transformative patch has brought the game closer to CDPR’s original vision. And now the company is ready to make another attempt at the miserable RPG formula. But this time, he didn’t start the game from scratch. Instead, the developers plan to use existing game elements “tighter” They connect it “A complete and cohesive immersion experience” With the second entry in the Cyberpunk franchise, Szarzynski concluded.

Whether CDPR will be successful in this matter will not be known for some time. During an investor presentation in October, another company official revealed that the project was still in the “conceptual design” stage. This indicates that Cyberpunk 2077 Part 2 is still years away from release.
