8 places in the city worth exploring in May

As you may already be familiar with, this month we brought you the most exciting new places in Budapest. Take a look at the restaurants and cafes that the capital and its public have enriched!

Nicaragua

Nicaragua opened on the most colorful street in Ogboda, Bartok. Drawing on the Nicaraguan experiences of Laszlo's family of seven, the venue in Buda evokes the West Coast of the Caribbean during the day with authentic furnishings, new coffee specialties and exquisite, partly Central American-inspired breakfasts that sometimes serve as main courses, including special burritos and Nicaraguan bowls and avocado toast, while delicious cocktails and mocktails are served in the evening, and of course, Nicaraguan rum.

Paul by Csemege

Csemege on Kecskemét Street has become so close to our editors' hearts that we were all sad to find out: our favorite breakfast restaurant has changed its profile. Our fear quickly evaporated, as Csemege's BOLL meal, which takes the form of Swedish meatballs, is love at first bite. In the Scandinavian-style canteen, you can choose from five types of balls (three with meat, one with fish, and one with vegetables): our favorite was the complete extra Oslo bowl, which includes six venison balls, mashed potatoes, fruit sauce, and gravy. the fruit. Pickled onions and brown cheese sauce. Goes best with kombucha!

Pizza/pasta nutty

Four years ago, Gusti Halas appeared on the banks of the Rakve-Danube and quickly swept us off our feet with his perfectly baked hake and delicious sausages. Guszti pulled the card at 19, and in his fish fryer yard, he has now opened his Italian-inspired unit, Guszti's Pizza/Pasta. In addition to soups prepared according to original recipes and al dente pasta poured over the neck with delicious sauces, nine types of pizza can be served on the altar of Dolce Vita, from the simpler Margherita to the captivating Guszti with bacon. Beach, pasta and sunshine, you don't need much more to be happy!

Beer people

Halfway between the Opera House and St. Stephen's Church, at the bottom of a block of flats, hides Beer People, the newest craft beer venue in downtown Pest. Small in volume, but larger in beer, the facility offers selected nectars from American, English, Czech and Hungarian brews in cans, bottles and on draft. Not a beer lover? No thanks necessary! Budapress cider, made with the utmost care from the finest apple trees in Origije in Itek, is guaranteed to hit the spot! Business hours are Wednesday to Monday, 2pm to 10pm.

I'm waiting for you here

A stone's throw from Szabadság tér, in the location of the famous Szabadság Kávéház (which Ady also frequents), Itt Várlak has opened, combining a peacetime atmosphere with specialty offerings. In the inviting café with a sunny terrace and a slightly Art Deco interior, you can get a fresh boost with ground coffee from Reserve Coffee, from which you can choose your filling from six alternative milks. If you fancy something sweet, we have a number of bakery and confectionery products available, breakfast and brunch lovers can satisfy their appetite with nutritious sandwiches, and in the evening we can accompany you with fine wine.

Bianj Astoria

After Oktogon and Vámház korút, Astoria, one of the city's main transportation hubs, has opened its third location of the Biang chain, featuring Master Wang, known for its budget-friendly prices. The menu of this traditional Chinese street food restaurant is full of familiar dishes: the warm soup, crumbled duck breast, steam buns or fried noodles are not to be missed, but Chinese spaghetti can only be tasted here, and you can even order it as a soup topping! If you want to venture into the world of Far Eastern gastronomy, Biang is the place for you!

Budapest pancakes

Újlipótváros' new salvation, GOFRI Budapest, awaits all waffle lovers with luxurious toppings, unique flavors and family-friendly service! At this snack bar located just a block from Szent István Park, it's all about crunchy Belgian sweets, which can be enjoyed in countless variations. We can treat our taste buds to a wide array of creams, fruits, toppings, and sprinkles, depending on how seriously we take the beach body pledge we made at the beginning of the year. The selection of refreshing lemonades, iced coffees, ice cream pies, virgin mojitos and product syrups are the highlight for me.

Café Antoinette

Parisian elegance spiced with a touch of bohemianism, luxurious croissants and complimentary cakes. This is roughly how we can sum up why it is important to visit Café Antoinette, which is located next to the Thalia Theater. In addition to the above-mentioned irresistible delicacies, delicious coffee, colorful macarons and luxurious cocktail creations will help you experience the French sense of life in an unadulterated way.
