A Netflix profile isn’t just about signing up for watching movies online, or soon will be.
Netflix appeared here relatively recently, but it’s been around in the US since 1998, although the company didn’t start its career as a streaming service provider, as its profile was originally DVD rentals by mail (envelope) – and for that reason, The largest American video store has gone bankrupt.
In 2010, Netflix sparked an irreversible revolution in watching movies online with subscription, but its DVD rental service is still available today (since 2016, dvd.netflix.comon, which is currently showing an error).
However, that’s over, because on September 29, Netflix will discontinue its DVD rental service after 25 years.
The company has prepared several gifts for its DVD customers, because on the one hand, they can keep their last order without charging any fee, and they will also get ten randomly selected DVDs from their wish list, which will be mailed on the last day of the service, i.e. September 29th.
And by the way, a happy clarification in response to all the headlines out there:
We do not charge any discs that are not returned after 9/29. Please enjoy your final shipments for as long as you like! ❤️💿🍿 https://t.co/lpSJHq29ZX
