David Pressman, US Ambassador to Hungary, visited Veszprém on Friday at the invitation of Tibor Navrašeks, Minister of Regional Development, where he expressed his admiration for Europe’s cultural capital and the recent developments taking place there.
At the end of the day, Pressman thanked Navracsics for the invitation and said:
Not in the name of the government, but as a citizen of the city, he invited the diplomat known for his love of art.
Navratskes stressed that he hopes that personal relations will also improve the quality of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Pressman said that there are good intentions on the part of the United States to improve relations.
“A lot depends on the relationship between the two countries, and there is too much at stake at this moment for us to be able to do things right.” -The ambassador said- “It is clear that we are living through a turbulent period in the relationship between the United States and Hungary, but I am in regular contact with senior Hungarian government ministers — it is productive and useful, and I am confident that this will continue,” he said. Because it’s very important.”
The ambassador also touched on the relationship between Hungary and Ukraine. According to him, it will be important for the Hungarian government to assure Ukraine of its support, highlighting the importance of Katalin Novak’s visit to Kiev.
