Pál Zsigmond Barna also owns two properties in Transylvania.

posted on Government website The declaration of origins by Pal Zsigmund Barna, Secretary of State for Public Administration in the newly created Ministry for European Union Affairs, in which the Member of Parliament (or his staff) was immediately able to spot a small error:

The date of the recent asset announcement was theoretically January 30, 2023.

As a member of parliament, Zigmund also had to submit a declaration of assets at the end of January, which differs from the declaration he has now made, if only in some minor respects.

However, the statement reveals that the Secretary of State of Fides owns four properties in his name, including a family house of 162 square meters in Augpest, which he bought in 2000, and is his largest property. He owns half of this family home plus another 61m2 apartment in Augpest, which was purchased in 2020.

He also owns property in Romania: Zsigmond from Transylvania, and he owns two properties there, one of which is in Csíkszentgyörgy, where he owns half of it since 2012. This is also a family home of 160 square metres. The other property in Transylvania is a 25.5 square meter apartment in Marosvazarele, a quarter of which is owned by the Secretary of State.

Zsigmond’s previous ads for assets also featured the two high-value SUVs he also included in his latest ad: the Volvo XC-60 purchased in 2016 and the Volvo XC-90 purchased in 2018 also bear his name. If you buy the latter new, it can cost up to 25-30 million HUF, depending on the level of equipment.

And he doesn’t have to be modest about his savings either: he has forty million in stocks and ten million in government bonds, he has 15 million forints in his account and 6 million forints in foreign currency. However, he owes a loan of twenty million, and he also owes a family member twenty million forints.
