Vice President Kashim Shettima will leave Abuja tonight for Dallas, USA to represent President Bula Ahmed Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit hosted by the Corporate Council of Africa.
A statement issued by Stanley Nkosha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, on Sunday said that Shettima will join other political and business leaders across Africa, the United States of America and beyond at the summit, which will include high-level dialogues, networking sessions and a session. Public, all scheduled at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
Nkosha added that the African presidents expected to attend the summit are Joseph Bukai (Liberia), Lazarus Chakwera (Malawi), Joao Lourenco (Angola), Mokwetsi EK Masisi (Botswana), and Jose Maria Neves (Cape Verde). The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Nthomeng Magara, is also expected to attend the summit.
Alongside the summit plenary session, Shettima is expected to speak at the roundtable on investing in African infrastructure with a focus on impact and returns. He is scheduled to speak before a high-level panel on agribusiness, with a focus on “moving from food insecurity to thriving agribusiness.”
The Vice President will also speak at a plenary session on Navigating Africa's Energy Future as well as chair a session dedicated to promoting the Nigeria Investment Initiative.
He is also expected to attend other meetings and gatherings on the sidelines of the summit.
