Is the Call of Duty tradition coming to an end?

Is the Call of Duty tradition coming to an end?

Activision Blizzard King has to rethink something regardless of whether or not Microsoft can acquire the publisher in the near future.

Call of Duty is released every year. For this, of course, the publisher needed to rotate the studios developing the games, so Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer Games passed the baton to each other during development. We haven’t heard much about this year’s yet to be announced part, though there are parts already announced this time of year, but we tend to see at least a handful of rumors and leaks. But this year the pace is much slower in this area…

It was rumored that there wouldn’t be a new Call of Duty in 2023, which would be the first time since the first part released in 2004 that the franchise would be cut off from game streaming at the end of the year, which if it gets its “usual dose” this year, it will be Its size is smaller. Except now to hear that the 2023 release will be a re-imagining of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which was originally released in 2011… and that it will be developed by Sledgehammer Games. It feels like a stretch, since Call of Duty: Warzone 2 launched last year alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. If they somehow don’t miss this year’s release, a conflicted game will be released or at least one developed for a shorter period of time.

It should be noted that Infinity Ward has always been behind the Modern Warfare games, and since this team was also behind the two reimagined parts, it would be an incomprehensible move, and it must be added that between Call of Duty and fans the gap is even greater. Disagreements between veteran IP players and Activision Blizzard King are ongoing and don’t give much reason for optimism.

The publisher should announce Call of Duty 2023 soon. This game will definitely be released on PlayStation 5, but we suspect it will be on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but we can only guess…
