Images are circulating on social media that allegedly show Valve's next game, which Tyler McVicker, who reported on several Valve projects before the announcement, says is called Deadlock and is currently being tested by hundreds of people.
Images from a private playtest of the game show 6v6 gameplay with abilities not unlike Overwatch or similar In hero based shooting racing games From used. According to McVicker, it has been in development since 2018, has tower defense mechanics and is set in a fantasy setting mixed with Steampunk.
He said it features witches, strange creatures, robots, and fast travel using floating rails, similar to Bioshock Infinite. He added that it is fast-paced, the design of the heroes is almost inspired by the world of Dota, and originally there were more science fiction elements, but after bad feedback, they moved it towards fantasy.
