Index - Tech-Science - The International Astronautical Association conference comes to Budapest with about half a hundred astronauts

Nearly half a hundred astronauts are expected to arrive in Budapest for the 33rd Congress of the Association of Space Explorers (ASE), MTI announced.

According to the organizers, the event between November 1 and 5 is “an important step for the promotion of space research, as well as for the increasingly important role of Hungarian universities, research institutes and companies.”

Such a conference was held in Budapest as early as 1986, and has since been hosted by Washington, Beijing, Moscow and Tokyo. The conference scheduled for 2020 has been postponed to this fall due to the pandemic.

Guests participate in professional and educational programs, opening a tree in memory of the deceased astronauts in Budapest’s city park on Halloween, and then visiting several rural towns where they meet those interested in space exploration.

Earlier, the index also reported that he is expected to be a Hungarian astronaut again in 2024 or the first half of 2025. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Sigarto stated regarding the plan: The astronaut will arrive at the International Space Station with American cooperation, where he can conduct experiments on devices developed in Hungary.
