The new functionality of the browser could be preferable to people who are lazy and short on time.

After starting ChatGPT about a year and a half ago, the technology world jumped into the topic of text generators with great momentum, so not only Google and Microsoft had AI-based chatbots, but also smaller players like the Brave browser (Leo AI) or Opera.

Last year, the latter made available its AI assistant called Aria, with which we can chat and get answers to many questions, as a kind of alternative to traditional online searches. The assistant has now been added to the mobile version of the browser with a really useful functionality.

Because the developers He announced in a statement, that in the Android version of Opera 82, Aria is already able to summarize the content of text web pages, making it the first phone browser to be able to do so. To use this function, press the “…” button in the upper right corner, then select “Summarize” option. A chat window will then appear containing a compressed version of the selected article, blog post or other text content.

The only limitation is that the trick only works when you're signed in with an Opera account, which anyone can sign up for for free. So far, it has not been mentioned whether the iOS version of the browser can also get the new ability, but the Aria assistant itself is also available on iPhones, so there is a good chance that it will also learn the briefs later.
