According to the plans, Overture will be able to pass through clouds at a speed of 1600 km / h.

Almost three years ago, Boom Supersonic presented plans for an aircraft called Overture, which, according to the company’s promises, will carry passengers at a speed of 1,600 kilometers per hour, which will be able to cover the distance between New York and London in 4 hours. Instead of the current 8-9 hours. This has caught the attention of many airlines, although the introduction is still in development. Now, at an event in Paris, new details about the miracle machine have been revealed, she says inside.

Blake SchollSymphony engines are being developed with major companies such as FTT, StandardAero and GE Additive, the company’s CEO said, and production will begin in Florida. Another location will be chosen in the future, as Boom will need thousands of engines for its fleet of the expected hundreds of aircraft.

The units are designed to run 100 percent on SAF, or Sustainable Jet Fuel, from day one. This will be produced from sources such as cooking oil and other waste.

According to the announcement, this can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 80 percent compared to conventional jet fuel.

The front is designed for takeoffs and landings at 600 airports around the world. Boom has already received 130 orders for the aircraft – from airlines such as United Airlines and American Airlines. Commercial launch may be approved by the US Aviation Authority in 2029. Of course, this requires that the aircraft pass all tests on time and there are no delays in development either.
