Fans took to social media to praise Liverpool midfielder Alexis McAllister for his stunning goal against Fulham, with some describing it as the goal of the season.

The Argentine picked up the ball in midfield before charging forward and unleashing an unstoppable shot from 30 yards, which went past Bernd Leno.

There was controversy before the goal as the Fulham goalkeeper was allowed to remain on the field despite receiving medical treatment for an eye injury with fans suggesting he should not be allowed to continue due to the severity of the injury.

McAllister’s stunning goal comes just days after Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho scored a stunning bicycle kick against Everton.

Since then, fans have taken to social media to compare the two, with some suggesting McAllister’s goal was even better than his national teammate’s.

One fan made his opinion clear as he simply wrote: “Mac Allister > Garnacho.”

Another wrote: “Sorry Mac Allister, Garnacho’s goal is still the goal of the season.”

Other fans stated that Mac Allister’s hit would compete with Garnacho’s hit for the award, saying: #Mac Allister!!! The blatant!!!!!

“Goal of the season rival”.

However, one Liverpool fan took to the X to share his belief that Jarnacho will win Goal of the Month ahead of McAllister.

They said: “Shame McAllister didn’t score that goal last month so he will win the GOTM instead of Garnacho’s goal.”

More supporters decided not to compare the two and instead praised Mac Allister’s strike for how good it was.

One wrote: “Stoop down McAllister, this is an unbelievable goal.”

Another user finished by revealing how Mac Allister made him eat his own words.

They wrote: “I started rolling my eyes when McAllister was about to shoot, and as soon as he let go of his foot my eyes opened so quickly, it was unbelievable!”
