Bollywood comedy-drama film Laapataa Ladies was released on streaming giant Netflix on Friday. On social media platform Chhaya Kadam's portrayal of Manju Maai, Nitanshi Goel's performance as Phool, and Pratibha Ranta's portrayal of Jaya were particularly praised for their exceptional acting and portrayal of their roles. Here are some reactions from users on the X

“Bollywood's new train scene has just dropped,” one user wrote.

Others wrote: “One of the best films I have seen recently.” Very good choice of broadcast stars and @ravikishann was fantastic as inspector.”

“The film shows good people doing good things as if it is normal to do so, at a time when we expect everyone to be corrupt/evil. It shows innocent, untainted and simple people who still exist at a time when films have forgotten them. Deepak Pooja”

“Jaya was a well-written character and the actress played her brilliantly.”

“This movie is so beautiful, simple, light hearted.. heart touching! Please watch #LaapataaLadies, if you want to feel good while smiling! This one is for you! The cast is absolutely amazing! Fresh! Ravi Kishan is fun”

“I just finished #LaapataaLadies on Netflix and I really loved it. First off, @nitanshi_goel as Phool Kumari is something I really loved, there were other good female characters but she's the only one who gave me a feminine vibe”

“Nice, beautiful cinema. I am very happy to congratulate the entire team for giving us this cinematic gem. The social commentary that sheds light on many issues in a quirky way was fair. Kiran Rao may continue to produce films frequently.”

“We need more films like Laapataa Ladies! Intimate, wholesome, and a great reality check on society. It had all the right elements – storytelling, comedy, emotion, and a rewarding climax.”

“Being happy in yourself is the hardest thing…but when you master it nothing will bother you. These lines from Chhaya Kadam sound different.”

“Best Indian Film of 2024 (Even Better Than Failure XII).” Every man, every woman and every family should see it! The acting and cast are absolutely top notch. You've left me crying on multiple occasions! “This movie deserves to be a success.”
