According to experts, if you are in what is called “parallel scrolling”, it can cause serious problems in your relationships. “Parallel swiping” is a term that means you and your partner are on the phone at the same time, next to each other and completely ignoring the other. Although it is completely understandable that you need to relax at the end of the day, this habit can completely kill your intimacy.

Tracy Ross, a couples and family therapist in New York, said it's hard to find a couple who doesn't see their phone as an unwanted third party in their relationship.
