The Velvet – Check Out – Fireworks, Lights, Crowd: Lionel Messi is presented in Miami

On Sunday, Lionel Messi was introduced in Miami in front of more than 20,000 fans at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

A crowd of 20,000 in the evening, punctuated by torrential rain and lightning, waited for the seven-time Ballon d’Or player to be given the well-deserved number 10 shirt by the captains of Inter Miami. Of course, the club’s founder and CEO, David Beckham, was also present at the presentation, which Messi welcomed with a big hug.

Messi entered the field with a huge podium and was introduced as America’s top 10 favorite player, as well as the best player in the world. Seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady and four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry welcomed him in a video message.

In his short speech in Spanish, Messi thanked the fans and revealed his goals for coming to Miami:

I really want to start training and competing. I have the same desire as before: I want to win to help the club grow bigger

On Sunday, not only Messi was introduced, but also the club’s other new addition, Sergio Busquets. The players can already play their first game on Friday: Inter Miami will play Mexico’s Cruz Azul in the League Cup.
