Ontario, May 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) Player Saad Bin Zafar has been named captain as Canada unveils a 15-man squad for the ICC T20 World Cup starting June 1 in the West Indies and USA.
Zafar will lead Canada in their first ever T20 World Cup appearance. The team is coached by former Sri Lanka and Canadian international Popudu Dassanayake, having taken over in 2022.
Canada was placed in Group A alongside India, Pakistan, Ireland and the United States. They open their campaign against neighbors USA in Dallas on June 1, and the North American nation is then scheduled to face Ireland on June 7, followed by clashes against Pakistan on June 11 and India on June 15.
