In 2025, the United States will host the first ever 32-team Club World Cup

According to the FIFA President, the location is ideal to make football truly global.

FIFA has unanimously chosen the United States to host the new and expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup in 2025.

The United States, who will host the 2024 Copa America, will also host the World Cup in 2026 along with Canada and Mexico.

Infrastructure and service requirements as well as the tournament’s broader strategic goals were taken into account when selecting the host.

“The Club World Cup 2025 will be the pinnacle of professional club football, and with the necessary infrastructure and huge domestic interest, the United States is the ideal host to launch the new global tournament,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said of the decision.

“With some of the world’s best clubs already qualified, fans from every continent will bring their passion and energy to the United States in two years to make soccer truly global,” the sports executive added.

FIFA announced in March that the tournament would take place every four years from 2025, with the four winners from each of the prestigious continental series qualifying between 2021 and 2024. That means Europeans, Chelsea, Real Madrid and the final winner, Manchester United City, they are already designated participants.

At the same time, FIFA decided to extend the submission period for the 2030 World Cup by a quarter: the projects will be presented at the next meeting of the FIFA Council in September-October, and the director will be determined at the end of next year. before the assembly conference.
