Ubisoft’s new Assassin’s Creed Mirage looks like AC1

theGeek

New Assassin’s Creed Mirage screenshot reminiscent of a famous scene from AC1 “to pay special respect to the game that started it all.”

Many fans were hoping Ubisoft would show a new Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay trailer at the 2022 Game Awards, and while that didn’t happen, Ubisoft in Purdue saw fit to release a new screenshot of the game. Some fans may be hoping to get some new information on AC Mirage during the events of Assassin’s Creed Day (December 21). However, based on this screenshot being posted, that seems unlikely.

In addition, according to recent reports, AC Mirage has already been delayed twice internally. AC Mirage was never given a general release date, only a 2023 window, but so far it looks like fans can expect the title in August 2023. That’s plenty of time for Ubisoft to release the game, and while one screenshot doesn’t compare much to the month, it does stand out. Among the crowd.

To cap off 2022, including recent explorations into the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and to celebrate the game’s 15th anniversary, Ubisoft Bordeaux has released a new screenshot of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a 1:1 recreation of one of the beloved shots from the original. AC1. The short video below shows how close the two are, while a subsequent tweet includes a back copy for download. But long story short: the background is adapted from the Baghdad scene of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Altair is replaced by Basim, and enemies are swapped with the match. But other than that, it’s a solid re-creation in terms of looks, design, and more.

Although AC Mirage is closely related to AC1, as it is set at the height of the Hiders, prior to the transition to Assassins (and the subsequent Altair remake), it is important to note that it is its own game. All AC games are closely related, AC Mirage perhaps more so than most due to the timeline, gameplay, and choice of name as the main character, but it’s primarily a story by name, with assassination and parkour as its mainstays. Fans are clearly excited for a sequel, and for the avid fan, a screenshot might not satisfy them. But most importantly, Ubisoft can deliver a product they are proud of. With projects like Assassin’s Creed Red and AC Hexe on the horizon, AC Mirage is really a testing ground to see if the classic approach has a place in its future plans. Ubisoft appears to be open to that, but AC Mirage’s reception could significantly influence the final decision.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released in 2023 for Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
