Programs where the whole family can relax together play an important role in the life of the Subcarpathian Hungarian Large Family Association (KMNE). We offered them this opportunity on May 27, 2023 in Nagydobrony, in Horgásztanya, where a hunting competition took place.
Families who love fishing came with great enthusiasm. Thirty families and about a hundred people came, of whom sixty registered for the competition. The program is supported by the Hungarian government. Below you can read the experiences of one of the participants, Gizella Pinte:
This year, my family and I participated in the fishing competition organized by KMNE on May 27th. Unusually, this time the venue was Horgásztanya in Nagydobrony. Where we can enjoy a wonderful day organized by Janos Berta and Eva Barra (and her family). For us, the place wasn’t new, as we are locals, but it was a great experience to meet member families from far away.
It is planned to arrive at the site at 8 am. Then came the briefing and selection of locations, which we left to luck, where all participants could draw their own fishing spot number. Our little girl drew number 27. It certainly turned out to be a good place, because we were on the podium: we took third place, sharing with another family. We were glad, because last year we missed this place, when we were on a hunting competition for the first time. We were very happy with the result, but our daughter’s happiness was the most important thing to us. We really enjoyed the company, it was nice to meet, get to know each other, laugh a lot and talk. For us, this program was special as well as hunting.
Before announcing the results, we thanked the sun and the fish with a prayer, but the fish could have been bigger and bigger. At the end of the day was a delicious fish soup, which was a great success, because they had practiced it some more.
