He very much frightened Alcaraz, the Italian opponent ranked 38th in the world rankings, at the end of the first match he broke the Spaniard, who could not react to this, so he was at a disadvantage. 3:6

The following matches followed the same pattern: Alcaraz broke either in the middle of the set or towards the end, to which Berrettini could not give a meaningful answer. In the final, the Italian also suffered a lot: the world-ranked serve for the match was already 40:15 ahead, when Berrettini equalized, having saved two match points. Alcaraz had an advantage, but Berettini also saved the third match point, and then it had nothing to do with the fourth – the 20-year-old Spaniard reached the quarterfinals.

The second set is made by Carlos Alcaraz

Alcaraz’s opponent will be Holger Roon, also 20 and ranked sixth: the Danish challenger – like his Spanish rival – recovered from a steady deficit and crushed Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.
