Some people had real panic after waking up to the earthquake late at night in the UK. Walls and houses started shaking in South Wales just before midnight.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), the earthquake at 23:59:39 had a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale and was at a depth of 2 km.
According to Google’s earthquake warning system, the magnitude of the quake was 4.2. The British Geological Survey, the main provider of seismic data in the UK, has not released any information yet.
The epicenter was located 12 kilometers north of Ronda.
Sky News interviewed several people about the earthquake. Some people felt the whole house shake for five seconds, while others said it felt like a car had broken into their property.
“At Ebbw Vale it definitely felt a lot worse than a slight jolt. We thought someone ran into cars in our driveway. Scary! We took the whole estate out and wondered what happened! The whole house shook so badly” – wrote a resident of Wales on his page in social networks.
