The ten-year-old organization from Szolnok helps with bridging services

Celebrate their eventful years with a photo recap on Friday in celebration of their 10th anniversary. The event was once again hosted by the Ferenc Verseghi Library and the Institute of Public Culture.

“When the.” association Founded, my long-standing personal desire fulfilled, that persons with severe and multiple disabilities have representation, a group in which they are not removed from mainstream society – Tondi Vervary, President of the Association, emphasized in his speech.

– They struggle with a lot of disadvantages, not only because of their condition, but also because caring for them is a very difficult task for the family. Therefore, the membership and presidency of our association carry out activities and provide services bridging gaps that are very difficult for participants to achieve in everyday life. Examples include our rehabilitation services or parent support groups, which are in great demand. We are not a big organization, but the membership of this small association is very tight-knit, these fifty people come to our programs not only from our province, but from all over the country – said the president, thanking the support from many places.

He noted that there are few places in the country where local governments are in direct contact with civic organizations and pay much attention to the needs of these associations.

Since their establishment, step by step, more and more events and projects have been carried out, accompanied by an amazing show, Andrea Sebestyen, Event Director, recalled to the gathering. Among their outstanding achievements are the launch of a series of outreach programmes, the association becoming an employer, and the launch of the PLUSZ PONT Community House, first in Szolnok and then in Újszász. And of course countless programs. In recognition of all these merits, Tünde Fehérváry was awarded the Hungarian Silver Medal of Merit in 2020 in recognition of her “outstanding work for people with disabilities”.

At the event, the association also thanked its collaborating partners and their assistants for their work with a certificate and a small gift, followed by a cultural presentation.

– During the ten years, I have been able to achieve my countless goals and objectives – said Tond Vervary, evaluating the course of the association. – In the meantime, the focus is constantly on new goals. We are working to ensure that our professional work continues to develop, and that direct human relations continue to function as they were.

The event didn’t end there, it continued on Saturday with more informal community programming.
