The search circuit can make screenshots faster…

With Circle to Search, users will soon be able to copy and share selected areas as screenshots. Unfortunately, it is not yet known when Google will offer these functions.

Circle to Search, the handy Android phone feature that lets users quickly search for something by circling an item on the screen, has gotten two new features, as well as a new look.

the PiunikaWeb I teamed up with AssembleDebug to discover that Google is developing two new features for Circle to Search. It looks like we will soon see “Copy Image” and “Share Image” options when using the search function.

Currently, the Circle to Search feature allows the user to simply circle, scribble, highlight, or tap anything on the screen. It then displays information about the content within the selected area. However, these new options add some additional features to the feature.

As it seems, clicking on “Copy Image” will copy the selected area as a screenshot. In addition to the snapshot, the photo editor opens and allows the user to add comments or make other corrections. Once done, the user can copy the edited image and share the screenshot in supported apps.

As for the “Share Image” option, this option is a more direct way to share. Tapping this option will turn the selected area into a screenshot and allow it to be instantly shared with supported apps.

With the new additions to the search circle, users can save some time. Instead of taking a full screenshot and then going to editing to crop the unnecessary part, the cropping part can be taken care of in one step.

In addition to the new options, it looks like the user interface may also undergo some transformations. In the example above, you can see what the current version looks like on the left and right.

Earlier this month, Google introduced Circle to Search for the Pixel Fold. The feature is currently available on the Pixel 8 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7a, and Pixel 6a. It's also found on select Samsung phones, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
