The leadership of Ukraine and NATO discussed new military operations

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustam Omerov and the country's newly appointed head of the armed forces, Oleksandr Sirsky, held strategic discussions on Kiev's military objectives for 2024 with NATO leaders, including Gen. Christopher Cavoli, NATO's Supreme Commander of European Armed Forces, and Lt.-Gen. Reuters reported that Antonio Aguto is the leader of the Ukrainian Security Assistance Group.

Colonel-General Oleksandr Sirsky, who has been Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces since 2019, recently became Commander of the Armed Forces. This promotion coincides with the approaching third anniversary of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Sersky succeeded Valery Zalozny in his position.

During the meeting, Omerov confirmed that he had a “clear and meaningful conversation” with Generals Cavoli and Aguto. The focus of the negotiations was Ukraine's military strategy for the coming year. “The Supreme Commander announced the priorities,” Umarov said. These priorities included improving the structure of the armed forces, improving the quality of training of military personnel, strengthening existing brigades and creating new brigades, and ensuring the continuous supply of weapons and equipment.

Another important topic that came up was the urgent need for electronic warfare tools. These pieces of equipment were considered essential to effectively counter Russian drones. They also discussed the importance of rotating fighters on the front lines in order to maintain operational efficiency and team morale. However, Omeroff did not publish further details about these discussions.
