K-pop star Kareena was forced to apologize publicly after angry fans accused her of cheating over having a boyfriend. BBC.
After it was revealed that the 23-year-old singer of the group Aespa is dating actor Lee Jae-wook, fans drove a truck to the pop star's agency with the following inscription on an electronic billboard:
“Isn't the love you got from your fans enough?”
Kareena is next On his Instagram page One She posted a handwritten letterIn which he apologized to his fans for the unexpected surprise. He promised to show a more mature and hardworking side in the future and vowed to heal the wounds he caused.
The singer, whose real name is Yoo Ji-min, has been leading the four-member group since their debut in 2020. Aespa My World, released last year, set a record, selling 2.1 million copies in South Korea.
This case clearly shows the cruel world that regularly cripples South Korean pop stars. Even a decade ago, it was common for agencies to prevent new stars from dating and even from using their own cell phones. Admitting to relationships is still often considered scandalous by fans, the BBC reports.
