The existence of a planet called LHS 475 has been hinted at before, and has now been confirmed with the help of a telescope, as announced by NASA.
LHS 475 is roughly the diameter of Earth and lies about 41 light-years away.
It is not yet known whether its atmosphere is similar to that of our planet.
For a long time, astronomers knew only about the planets revolving around the sun. The first exoplanets were discovered only in the early 1990s. Exoplanets are celestial bodies orbiting a star outside our solar system. According to NASA experts, there are hundreds of billions of exoplanets in our Milky Way galaxy.
the James Webb Space Telescope It was built in collaboration with NASA and the Canadian and European space agencies, and launched into space aboard the Ariane launch vehicle from the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, in late 2021.
The first images taken by the space telescope were published in the summer of 2022. These provide a more detailed insight into outer space than ever before.

On September 22, 2022, the James Webb Space Telescope’s medium infrared instrument (MIRI) captured an image of catalog of spiral galaxy IC 5332, about 30 million light-years from Earth, in the constellation of the Sculptor in the southern sky. Consisting of a camera and a spectrometer, MIRI can detect mid- and far-infrared radiation with wavelengths between 4.6 and 28.6 microns, allowing it to monitor things that other James Webb instruments can’t. The corresponding arms of the spiral consist of a cloud of gas and emit infrared light of different temperatures. (Image: MTI/AP/NASA/ESA/Webb)
