The Pittsburgh Penguins took six Canadian players into their opener last night against the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago Iced Eight.

They all must have felt a little confused when the crowd at PPG Paints Arena started chanting “Fire Canada.”

But instead of Pittsburgh fans being upset with the country, they were taking their anger out on someone — someone who had absolutely nothing to do with the game on the ice.

It’s been a tough season for fans of the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers — who were upset by offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s offensive attack.

The two teams below them in total offense — the New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals — both have struggling quarterbacks and have been behind subpar offensive lines.

But Pittsburgh’s previously tough O-Line appears to have made improvements heading into this season.

That hasn’t stopped Najee Harris from being one of the most productive running backs in the league — which can also be said for second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett.

Canada was recently given an increased role in Pickett’s development, being tasked with working with the QB on a day-to-day basis.
