Netflix has commissioned Greta Gerwig to direct at least two Narnia films

Netflix acquired the movie rights to the Narnia book series in 2018, and it was the first time that the rights to all the books had passed to one company. Three films were previously made in the seven-volume series between 2005 and 2010. The first, “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” grossed over $745 million worldwide. The film starred such actors as Liam Neeson (he was the voice of Lion, Aslan), Tilda Swinton and James McAvoy.

In addition to the comic trilogy, the books also have a prequel, a parallel story, and a sequel, but it has not yet been made into a movie. So far, it hasn’t been revealed that Netflix will only process stories that haven’t been filmed and only remake them.
