VOSZ’s operating history spans thirty-five years, which plays an important role in Debrecen and Hajdú-Bihar Province, since there is no successful city and economy without successful businesses.
Mayor Laszlo Bab said in his greeting. As he recalls, starting in 2015, a completely new course was laid for the economic development of Cívis: they began to build a new economic policy that focused equally on all actors of economic life.
We have created an economic development organization that declares that not only multinational companies, but also small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are important to us. He added that we are the only municipality working on purpose to develop the park for small and medium enterprises.
As he explained, a major infrastructure development is currently underway in the Southern Economic Zone with the support of the government. This year, the first phase of SME park construction can start, and a relevant government decision will be made soon.
The Mayor of Debrecen emphasized: The past years have brought extraordinary economic success to Debrecen, with the working capital arriving here amounting to 11 billion euros. As he said, the city is on a path of growth that will affect the entire eastern Hungarian region and create opportunities for small and medium businesses. He pointed out that strengthening trade relations between the sectors of companies and small and medium enterprises represents a challenge for the coming years. EDC Debrecen will be able to provide serious support for this. – The results are already visible in the city’s economy, but the real transition and change will happen in 2-3 years – he added, referring to the fact that production will start from 2025, among other things. The previous year had closed successfully, said Josef Soltis, head of the VOSZ district, one of whose goals was to increase the quantity and quality of membership. As a result, it has been expanded from 45 to 97 by December 2022. – This year, we want to continue this trend, because in the meantime we have also crossed the 100 mark, – he said. He noted that the organization has joined the Work Charter + project coordinated by the Hajdu Bihar District Self-Government, which aims to preserve the district’s jobs and residents.
Last year, we developed a five-year strategy and started implementing it in 2022. Our vision for the future is for VOSZ to develop the image that we are the number one local representative body for SMEs
– said Janos Ibel, President of VOSZ. In his information, he emphasized that the goal is to continue to ensure the success of the advocacy, enhance their services, establish active and two-way cooperation, and further promote the advocacy organization as a brand. In addition to all this, they are continuing the Széchenyi Card Program, expanding business development and training, as well as increasing organizational activity.
