The British Prime Minister assured Zelensky, saying: they are ready to support Ukraine in the long term

According to the Downing Street report, Rishi Sunak spoke on the phone with Volodymyr Zelensky, who confirmed that Ukraine can count on Britain’s support in the long run.

According to a spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office in London, Sunak cited as one of the latest examples of British assistance that Britain has delivered more than a thousand anti-aircraft missiles to the Ukrainian armed forces. The British Prime Minister also told Zelensky that work is already underway to prepare for the delivery of additional equipment to be delivered in the coming weeks and months.

Sunak said the purpose of British aid was to ensure Ukraine won on the battlefield. The British Prime Minister added: Great Britain and the other members of the Defense Cooperation Organization called the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) are closely coordinating their work in order to deliver the basic equipment requested by Ukraine. In addition to Great Britain, the JEF initiative includes Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Iceland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway.

In the second half of November, Sunak visited Kyiv, where he met with Zelensky and announced that Great Britain would deliver air defense equipment to Ukraine worth 50 million pounds sterling (about 23 billion HUF). According to a Downing Street presentation at the time, the purpose of the large air defense weapons package is to protect Ukraine’s civilian population and critical national infrastructure network from massive Russian airstrikes.

Under the program, London will supply Ukraine with 125 anti-aircraft guns, as well as technologies that can be used against drones that Iran supplies to Russia. These technologies include dozens of radars and electronic warfare tools against drones.
