Velvet – Check Out – You can actually buy a house in France for one euro

In recent years, €1 housing projects have become very popular, as villages try to protect themselves from population displacement. Now a small village in France, Saint-Amand-Montrond, has joined the initiative.

In recent years, we have come across houses advertised for 1 euro in several countries, and we even found a property in Croatia for 50 Hungarian forints a few months ago.

Now a small village in France, Saint-Amand-Montrond, has also joined the initiative and offers for sale a two-storey house for one euro, which has everything you need: a kitchen, bathroom and living room on the ground floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. It turns out it's a house with a garden, so there's a yard and a garage waiting to be moved in Driving From his report.

As with projects in Italy, serious renovations need to be made to the property here, as it has been vacant for 12 years. According to the village administration, the expected cost of the renovations is 128 thousand euros, or approximately 50 million forints, but the new resident does not have to collect this amount alone.

The city's mayor, François Blondeau, told the French newspaper Ouest France that the new resident would receive “significant renovation subsidies.”

Those interested have until June 15 to bid on the offer, and will be able to view the home in person from May 15. The final contract is expected to be signed by the potential buyer in January 2025.

There are also several medieval castles and churches in the village, and there is also a spa center called Balnéor.
