The Tesla Model Y broke a serious record

Elon Musk often has a very good sense of when to act, but he also somehow knows what needs to be done years in advance in order to ensure success. The spread of electric cars is largely due to the work of Tesla. These electric cars represent the absolute pinnacle in terms of technical content and ecosystem, even if from some points of view one can find control over Tesla cars.

So there is an excellent technical foundation, strong global brand hype and leadership. If we apply all this to the SUV model (which is probably the most popular form in the world today), it could certainly become a very successful product. All this by Elon Musk Already in 2016, was predicted long before the Model Y (2019) was introduced. Of course, in 2016, electric vehicles were still in their infancy and Tesla was in a very different position than it is today. But if the goals are in place, there is a good chance of success if there is continuous work behind it.

Musk didn’t really care that a lot of people made fun of him for that prediction in 2016, and the hard work paid off. It’s also worth noting that Musk expects future Model Y demand to range between 500,000 and 1 million per year. As we can see, the big boss was far below the actual needs.

In January this year, it was the second month that the purely electric Tesla Model Y became the best-selling car in Europe. Yes, the cheaper Tesla SUV can drive internal combustion cars like the Volkswagen Golf or Peugeot 208.

And this time in Denmark, the Model Y has broken a serious record, becoming the car with the highest number of sales in Denmark, something Volkswagen achieved in 2013 with annual sales of 12,940 units. The Model Y has already sold more in the Nordic countries than Volkswagen’s small car, and there are still two months left of the year. I wonder where the Danish indicator stops?
