The Science and Innovation Council has been established at Széchenyi University in Gyor

Széchenyi István University is now the dominant knowledge center in our country. Development projects related to the creation of modern infrastructure and excellent teaching and research personnel, as well as the introduction of leading technologies, provide a special opportunity to further enhance the scientific performance of the institution. The Board of Trustees of the István Széchenyi Foundation for Universities, which administers the university, has established the Council for Innovation and Science for this purpose, which recently held its inaugural meeting.

The task of the council is to formulate proposals for the promotion and use of the scientific potential of the university, as well as to support the scientific activities of the university. The council coordinates and appoints the scientific work carried out at the university, as well as in other organizations and business groups of the institution. In addition, he comments on innovative, scientific and research documents of strategic importance, and can make proposals regarding them, and participates in cooperation in innovation, research and the scientific ecosystem of universities and institutions. The Board of Trustees will seek the opinion of the Board before making decisions in this area.

Peter Gaspar, Full Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), Head of the Research Laboratory of the Research Institute for Computing and Automation (SZTAKI), prof. doctor. Ervin Balazs, Regular Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Dr. David Becker, Associate Professor, Semmelweis University, A. doctor. Gyorgy Groner, External Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, prof. doctor. Valéria Csépe, Ordinary Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Hungarian Commission for Accreditation of Higher Education, László L. Simon, Director General of the Hungarian National Museum, prof. doctor. Vanda Lam, Vice-President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor Emeritus of Ferenc Deak Faculty of Law and Law, Szechenye Istvan University, and Dr. Laszlo Győrgy, the State Plenipotentiary responsible for professional cooperation in economic strategy tasks and coordination of Hungary’s education programme, became a member.

“We have invited as members of the board people who have achieved international recognition for their work, and whose experience extends to the management and development of scientific institutions. Thank you for using your knowledge in increasing the scientific recognition of Istvan Szechenyi University,” said Prof. doctor. László Palkovics, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Széchenyi István University Foundation.

The leaders of Istvan Cecchini University participated in the opening session – Dr. President Balint Philip, a. doctor. Chancellor Ferenc Friedler, Academic Vice President, Dr. Zsolt Kovács, Vice President for Education and Education, Dr. Eszter Lukács, Vice President in charge of International Relations and Strategy, and Prof. doctor. Josef Bokor, Vice President for Research and Innovation – who introduced the way the institution has become the dominant knowledge center in our country through trainings and research, located in Mosonmagyaróvár, Zalaegerszeg and Budapest as well as Győr.

“Our university aims to support the enhancement of the competitiveness of the region and the development of society and the economy with its scientific performance and innovations. We are pleased that the Innovation and Science Council now supports our efforts, and contributes to our institution occupying a higher position in the global rankings of higher education.” Palint Philip.
