There has been a slight decrease in the number of patients infected with the novel coronavirus and hospitalized patients in Croatia and Slovenia over the past week, according to a report from crisis teams on Sunday.
In Croatia, which has a population of more than four million, 3,339 new cases of coronavirus were identified in the past 24 hours, and 64 died of the COVID-19 disease caused by the virus. To date, 2 million 174 thousand 631 people have been vaccinated in the country, of whom 1 million 930 thousand 331 have already taken the second dose.
Villa Perros According to the Croatian Minister of Health, “a large number of unvaccinated people have generated a new strain of the virus”. He added, however, that general epidemiological rules such as staying away, wearing a mask, disinfecting, ventilating, and avoiding large gatherings, are also effective in curbing the novel virus variant.
In neighboring Slovenia, 1,478 new cases of coronavirus were recorded on Sunday, and 23 patients died as a result of the infection. The hospital accommodates 1,140 patients, 285 of whom are in the intensive care unit. In the country of more than two million people, 1,229,000,116 people have been vaccinated so far, of whom 1,146,000,403 million have already received the second dose.
According to Slovenian epidemiologists, since only 54 percent of the country’s population received two doses of one of the vaccines, and the other half were not vaccinated and were not exposed to the virus, the epidemic cannot be described as “stable”.
