The new leader certified by Shell is one of the richest Hungarian energy companies

On January 1, 2022, the MET Group appointed Sven Kirsch as the new Chief Financial Officer. The CEO of one of the richest Hungarians, Benjamin Lakatos, is the CEO of a European energy company based in Switzerland but mostly owned by Hungary.

a napi.hu Sven Kirsch will take over as Group Chief Financial Officer from Johannes Nimitz, who has been appointed as Head of the newly created Renewable Assets and Flexible Assets Division of the MET Group effective January 1, 2022.

Kirsch has worked for Royal Dutch Shell for over sixteen years, holding financial management positions. Most recently, Vice President of Finance for Planning,

He was an observer for Shell’s Integrated Natural Gas and Renewable Energy Solutions (IGR & ES).

MET was previously a subsidiary of Mol and they sold their entire gas supplier Tigáz, which Lőrinc Mészáros’ interests were swallowed up.

MET currently has subsidiaries in 14 countries and is present in the gas markets of 25 countries.
