The company has revealed that it wants to continue investing in Mass Effect, which is unsurprising as the new episode of the series is already being developed.
Electronic Arts has $1.55 billion in revenue acquired through the first quarter of fiscal year 2022, an increase of 6.3 percent over the previous year’s revenue. At the same time, total game sales fell 19 percent, but this was offset by a 13 percent increase in live services.
Electronic Arts have stated that they want to continue to focus on their live services, and a recent interview revealed that this focus is also mostly on sports. The company has a very ambitious plan, as it wants to double its sports base from 230 million to 500 million players in the next five years. The company has acquired several studios in recent months, with the biggest acquisition being Codemasters. The new Grid has already been announced at this year’s EA Play Live event, and on August 10, Codemasters 5-player games will be added to EA Play and Game Pass, including F1 2020 and Dirt Rally 2.0.
