Nokia hardware manufacturer has announced a new rugged phone. The XR21 will certainly not become as legendary as the 3310, but it is worth taking a look at for those for whom it is important that their mobile phones not wear out one or two points or clicks per week.

For many, it is indisputable that the Nokia 3310 is one of the best pieces in the history of mobile phones. A few years ago, we mentioned in a detailed article why so many people liked this device, which was remade in 2017 in a nostalgic manner.

The recently announced Nokia XR21 recalls the iconic model not in its looks, but in its durability, according to HMD Global, which is now behind the brand.

The novelty is simply the “smartphone version of the indestructible Nokia 3310”.

According to the announcement, the MIL-STD-810H-certified Nokia XR21 is protected against drops, dust and water — from falling out of a pants pocket, to falling to the ground with the screen facing down, to a 3-day hike. rain. It can withstand an impact equivalent to a water jet with a pressure of 100 bar and a temperature of 80°C. HMD Global promises that the device will not let its owner down even at temperatures from -20 ° C to +55 ° C. Anyone who gets cooler or hotter than this will probably worry less about whether or not Facebook is still working on their mobile phone.

Protecting the body, which is stronger than an ordinary smartphone, is a 6.49-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2440 pixels (FHD +). According to the manufacturer, the board can be used with wet hands, in the rain, or even with gloves, so it won’t be a problem on trips or festivals.

Qualcomm’s SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G chipset is backed by 6GB of RAM. After the name of the chip, it’s no surprise that the phone is 5G-capable. It has 128GB of storage which is expandable with a microSDXC card.

The Nokia XR21 has a 64MP (f/1.8) main camera on the back and an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, and the front module is 16MP (f/2.4).

The mobile battery with a fingerprint scanner is 4800 mAh, and according to the manufacturer’s promise, it lasts for two days on a single charge. This level is now achieved by many competitors. It is for this reason that the long-standing legendary Nokia 3310, perhaps, will refuse its successor in the family.

Nokia XR21 will be available in Pine Green and Midnight Black in Hungary from the beginning of June for 250,000 HUF.
