According to the ministry's statement, the head of the department announced, after his discussions with his Qatari counterpart and the Ministers of Energy and Finance, that they discussed several important issues for bilateral cooperation. He stated that there is a need to involve more and more energy sources in our country, but the purpose of this is not to replace the current suppliers. He added that Qatar will significantly expand its exports of liquefied natural gas from 2026, and on the basis of the previous political agreement, negotiations have begun between companies regarding transportation to Hungary, which is an important development in terms of ensuring our country’s energy security in the long term. .
Regarding potential transit routes, he indicated that there are several options, either through liquefied natural gas stations in Turkey, Greece, or Poland. However, he noted that the move towards Southeastern Europe will require implementing the capacity expansion investments currently underway as soon as possible.
