Although it was officially launched two weeks ago, on November 29, most users have only received Google Chrome version 120 in the past few days, which brought several security and design changes to the browser — especially the desktop version.
The most noticeable change is that Chrome has finally received the Material Design 3 design language, thanks to which the appearance of the browser has been updated. From now on, only a vertical bar separates the open pages, but when you move your mouse over them, they change to the color of your choice, indicating a selection.
In addition to all this, a down arrow has also appeared in the upper left corner, which helps reduce clutter. By clicking on it, you can see all the open pages in one place, and you can even search between them. By scrolling down here, we can also visit recently closed pages, so from now on there will be no need to constantly call up the history.
Version 120 also makes its debut in the new Chrome Web Store, but according to the developers (unsurprisingly) stability and security have also improved. The browser automatically offers the update when it becomes available, so you don’t have to search for it separately.
