Although the Academy is sometimes the site of serious and noisy intellectual battles, the lives and work of its esteemed members and the essence of the activities of the academic intellectual community are not to be found on the surface, but within. Sometimes it freezes and covers the layers below it for a long time, and at other times it cracks and gives way to the eruption of new magma. Fallen men become giants. Their knowledge, talent and vision take humans to unfathomable distances. Their spiritual greatness like The pearl of truth It becomes the core of science, culture and art.

Our project is placed at a point in the composition of the planned space where it seems most appropriate in terms of the polygonal nature of the city square, the facade of the Academy building, and the movement of people walking through the space. It does not cover the main entrance to the building, but rather is placed at the center of gravity of a dynamic movement. It can be walked around, walked through, and opens towards the Academy. Those who arrive by stairs from the lower platform and walk around the square can interpret the monument with its immediate surroundings. The floor covering gently slopes towards the ‘ball’, as if a planet crashing into it had crashed into it. Its fault lines are visible by streaks of light in the evening. We put benches on the edge of the indented sidewalk. The benches aren’t just for relaxing, they are also “smart benches”, i.e. with a suitable device you can connect automatically (Bluetooth and Wifi) to text, image and – with no barriers in mind – audio information interfaces presenting statements and stories from Academy members and the greats of Hungarian scientific and artistic life.

Entering the memorial, we can be silent. With the exception of the outside world, we enter the mystical core of science and art, where we can access the magma covered in the glass floor shown in the foreground, read the names of our greats, and search for The pearl of truth.
