Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt of Rivia, has been diagnosed with a serious illness

The actor spoke about his situation on social media, and Henry Cavill, among others, responded to his post.

Doug Cockle has already worked as a voice actor in many video games (among other things, he was entrusted with the main role of Victor Vran or the narration of SpellForce 3), but apparently his most famous character is Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher games, without him we cannot imagine the wolf white anymore. If he did nothing else, he would forever go down in gaming history.

It’s not yet clear if he’ll return to re-record Geralt’s words in the remake of Part One, but now there’s one more thing to worry about for the 52-year-old actor.

Cockle announced the bad news on Twitter that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Fortunately, based on what he says, the situation isn’t as bad as it seems:

“I had no idea. It started as a routine check-up and boom… [kiderült, hogy] I suffer from advanced prostate cancer. Treatment is already underway, and so far the outlook is good. Men over 50, get a PSA test, just to be safe! “

Cockle has received an outpouring of support from fans, with many posting his plea for everyone to look out for him. Among other things, the official responded to his post Witcher account (“We wish you the best! We know you can beat it, wizard!”), covering news of the franchise Redanian intelligence (“Stay strong Doug, you’ll be crushed!”) and the actor who portrays Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series Henry Cavill (“Take care of yourself, I pray for a speedy recovery, Doug”) too.

get well soon!
