Debrecen University reveals scientific secrets to the world


Debrecen – Debrecen University for those interested in science awaits in four cities on Friday 24th September, with a record number of programs offering all fields of science represented by the institution.


At the invitation of the Scientific Directorate, various institutional units, institutes and departments of the University of Debrecen have indicated their intention to participate in the fields of natural, social, medical, technical, human, agricultural and arts sciences with a total of 154 programmes. By the August 27 application deadline.

In 2007, the University of Debrecen first joined the initiative launched in 2005 to advance science directly, informally and intelligibly.

The head of the Scientific Directorate of Technology said:

The purpose of the program has not changed over the years, I want to present scientific results and methods in a playful way, thereby promoting them in order to convince as many young people as possible, it is worth choosing a scientific career.

This year’s priority program area is the humanities, and not coincidentally, the university is also participating in the “Debrecen City of Literature” competition, and UNESCO is expected to make a decision on the award in October. In the spirit of literature, those interested can learn about, among other things, the art of the Chinese novel, the heresies of past eras, the literary graffiti culture of ancient Rome, or even the gastronomic curiosity found in the works of French authors.

– This year, the range of programs in the field of technical and agricultural sciences is also important, thanks to which those interested can gain insight into the world of robotics or even viticulture.

Of course, you won’t miss popular tried-and-tested events, such as the amazing chemistry experiments and anatomical adventure tour, but visitors can also learn about novelties such as behind the scenes of the recently formed DEAC motorsports team or the puzzles of vaccine production. Zhuzsa Mándy, an employee of the Scientific Directorate, is the main organizer of the programme.

The events are free to attend, but there are programs subject to registration, which can be applied for from mid-September. Researchers Night website Debrecen is selected under the “Location” menu item, where you can read more information about the selected events.
