The United Nations General Assembly has promised to maintain Olympic peace during the upcoming Summer Olympics.
The Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB) wrote on its website that the proposal, which aims to “build a more peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideal,” had the support of 186 of the 193 UN member states.

The Olympic Truce enters into force seven days before the opening of the Games and expires seven days after the conclusion of the Paralympic Games.
