Babeș University – Bolyai announces more than 29,000 places for basic and master’s programs for the academic year 2023-2024, says the university’s press release.
It advertises 5,298 tuition-free places for undergraduates and 10,892 required tuition-fee places are available for those interested. At the same time, there will be 2,980 places for distance and reduced-visit education applicants in the undergraduate programme. Among the tuition-free places, the university reserves 30 places for applicants of Roma nationality, 176 places for graduates of rural high schools, 15 places for those coming from the welfare system, and 193 places for people with Romanian citizenship across the border.
The university advertises 3,627 tuition-free places and 6,284 places required for master’s programmes. Among the tuition-free places, 230 places are offered for priority regions, 5 places are for people coming from the welfare system and people with disabilities, and 127 places are open for people of Romanian nationality across the border. BBTE announces 50 places on taught master’s courses.
BBTE Doctoral Schools offer 315 tuition-free places for students from Romania and EU countries. People with cross-border Romanian citizenship can apply for 5 places, and the university also announces 95 places subject to tuition fees.
Applicants can choose from 252 bachelor’s degree programs (full-time or part-time courses) and 236 master’s programs (full-time or part-time courses), in addition, they can continue their research in 32 doctoral fields and 31 doctoral schools.
The academic year 2023-2024 will bring innovations to the educational offer of BBTE, as new specializations will be launched in the undergraduate program, in the Faculty of Politics, Public Administration and Communications (digital media – 3 years, full-time, in Hungarian) and the Faculty of Psychology and Education (specialization in Kindergarten Education Children and primary education, Resicabánya – distance learning, 3-year training in the Romanian department; Psychology – cognitive science specialization – 3 years, full-time training – in English).
In addition, 7 new master’s programs will be launched:
- Cyber Security / Cyber Security (in English, as part of an international network) in the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics;
- Bioinformatics in Applied Life Sciences (in English) in the Faculty of Biology and Geology,
- Climate change and sustainable developmentrespectively
- Tourism resources and sustainable development (Zelahoun) in the Faculty of Geography.
- Clinical Psychology: Evaluation and Intervention (in Hungarian) at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences;
- Analysis of business and financial data (in Hungarian) at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration;
- Political culture and global studies (in German) at the School of European Studies.
At the doctoral level, the BBTE organizes European Ph.D., as well as joint supervision and research training programs carried out within the framework of EUTOPIA and other international networks.
