Attila Biro has been the captain of the women’s national team since 2015, and since then it has been the weakest position in global competition.
– Maybe we should have done more to be more lucky, but in the second half of the match there was much more life in the team than in the first half, and maybe we were more accurate. In the end, two of our players scored and I couldn’t create the goals I wanted, but I’m not going to make excuses, the five-meter balls had to be hit – Attila Pirro said. He then added that due to injuries during the preparation period, they were never able to fully train the elements they eventually tried to use in the World Cup.
“It has been this season, but I am confident that many injuries will not come our way in the future,” said the national team captain.
Garda Cristina: We are not happy.
Basically, we are not happy that we had to play this game because we couldn’t get into the top four. Of course, we jumped into the water today wanting to win. I think we played a very tough and competitive game. We’ve managed to come back several times even from two goals down – unfortunately, it’s hard to say what the five managed in this way. Today we had good solutions, and more than that, I’m sorry we couldn’t play at this level for longer periods, either up front or at the back – Garda Cristina’s assessment.
The Hungarian national team must ensure its participation in the Paris Olympics next February, within the World Championships in Doha.
