Before the last round, the victory of Laszlo Nagybero could already be clinched, but there was still a serious battle for the second and third places on the podium. Most likely they are Imre Baláz and Dr. They were Csaba Papp (4.5 to 4.5 points), followed by Péter Gál with a perfect point – however, the last round also featured a Péter Gál-Imre Balázs duel.
Dr. Kasaba Bab beat Heilige in a mini gig, so he was sure to be on the podium. László Nagybiró did not spare his student Vajko Matejcsek either, so the fate of the first place was sealed. Fabian Szilard confidently defeated Camille Nagy, while Sandor Domini could not cope with Albert Vasi. Laszlo Rudolph also did the obligatory: he made Mate Borosus surrender.
The latest excitement was dedicated to the party of Peter Gall – Imre Palas. Imre had already tried to “test” his sokadik (black) slot against Péter, and now the complex and interesting situation emerged. However, at the same time as the drag show, he overlooked the interjection, which “blew up” the board. In the mud, Peter fished more confidently, and Emery took much longer … which ended up confusing time and defeat in the end.
László Nagybiró won the competition undefeated, and defended his title. Dr. Csaba Papp shines again in his old form: refined tricks and powerful tactics characterize his game. Third place was tied for Balázs Imre. Péter Gál’s game was not going well this time, he also suffered from illness during the competition, and in the end a tied third place still reflected reality.
Young people often made it difficult for adults and fought with each other. They still have a lot of chess to play, but they sure are on the right track! The first champion was Rudolf Laszlo of Patachek. Forever young, playing and fighting, he was even expected to be among the medalists at the start of the competition.
