According to the European Union, the Wagner coup poses a serious danger to nuclear power

Speaking in Luxembourg, Borrell expressed concern about the potential instability of a nuclear power like Russia and stressed the importance of continued EU support for Ukraine at this critical time. It appears that the Wagner Group, originally set up by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is now turning against its creator, further complicating the situation.

European Union foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell said the recent failed coup attempt in Russia by the Wagner mercenary group highlights the weakness of Moscow’s military stemming from the conflict with Ukraine. Prior to the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, Borrell expressed concern about political instability within nuclear energy.

Borrell stressed that it is now necessary for the European Union to provide more support to Ukraine. He also noted that the “monster” created by Russian President Vladimir Putin through the Wagner Group has now turned on its creator, exacerbating the situation.
