According to Forbes magazine, Vera Jorova is the most influential Czech woman

The Czech edition of the US Forbes magazine wrote in its Wednesday issue that European Commission Vice-President Vera Jourova is the most influential woman in the Czech Republic.

In second place was Lenka Pradakova, the prosecutor in Prague, who was once the most influential Czech woman for six years.

The leader of the list last year and the year before, Alina Chilrova, former deputy prime minister and finance minister and leader of the opposition faction in the UN coalition led by Andrej Babis, has now pulled out of the first hundred of the most influential Czech women. However, Vera Jourova and Lenka Pradakova have been among the most influential Czech women for years.

In third place came Renata Kellnerova, the widow of Peter Kellner, the richest Czech who recently died tragically, and took fourth place on the list last year. Kilnerova is now officially the custodian of her husband’s property, which has strengthened her position. Peter Kellner died in a helicopter crash in late March last year in the United States.

The prestigious American magazine has compiled a list of the most influential Czech women for the tenth time this year.

In her first year in 2012, Madeleine Albright, an American Secretary of State of Czech descent, took first place.

“There are several reasons for Vera Jourova’s leadership position. The European Commission, led by Jourova since 2019, has made important decisions in recent months on sanctions against Russia and protects Europe from disinformation campaigns funded by the Kremlin. Over the next six months, the Czech Republic will assume the presidency of the European Council, and from It is expected that the voice of the most influential Czech women will be heard more strongly.” Forbes stated in its statement of reasons.
