You’ll never guess what movies Hungarians watch the most besides Netflix

Based on the number of users and the length of time each person spends on the website or app, there are three international providers (Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix), two Hungarian streaming providers (RTL Most, TV2 Play) and two Hungarian video sharing services (the authority announced that their values were examined Content consumption (Jobbmintatv.online, Videoa.hu) by NMHH between April and June 2023.

The results showed that the seven media outlets are visited by about 2.63 million people weekly, and more than half of Internet users, 4.16 million people, monthly. In addition, the length of time spent on websites and apps also matters: people spend two and a half hours a week and nearly seven hours a month watching movies.

This data only shows the content consumption of those Hungarians who watch movies from a mobile phone, tablet or computer. They are also joined by those who use, for example, smart TVs, which will certainly increase the number of users and the length of time they spend watching movies.

In Hungary, Netflix and Video are clearly the most popular, with 1 million visitors each, followed by HBO Max and Disney+.

It is visited individually by half a million people, while the Jobbmintatv.online page is viewed by approximately 300,000 people weekly. At the end of the list are the services of the two main commercial TV stations: in April, more than 300,000 people joined TV2 Play, then the number of viewers began to decline sharply, and at the beginning of the summer there were only approximately 300,000 people. . One hundred thousand people were interested in this matter. The RTL Most Show was picked up by an average of 145,000 people weekly.

Overall, over the course of an average week, nearly half (46.3 percent, or 735,000 people) of the younger age group (16-29 years), and two-fifths (39.7 percent, or 1.5 million people) of those aged 30- 30 years. 59 years old, while just under a third of people aged 60 to 75 years (32.2 percent, or 357,000 people) visited the seven sites surveyed or one of the associated apps.

On average, the younger group of users spent more time on this type of entertainment than their older peers, approximately two hours and forty minutes per week. It is worth noting that both Disney+ and Netflix have been particularly popular among people under 30 years old.

The Internet content consumption trend, whereby Hungarians prefer to use mobile phones and tablets, is a specific phenomenon in terms of watching movies and series. Looking at an average week, during the period examined – excluding those using HBO Max services – all monitored media were visited by at least one and a half times as many people from a mobile phone or tablet compared to a desktop computer or laptop. .

Although it is true that more people access scanned media pages and apps from mobile phones/smartphones, based on the time spent by the average user, we can say that a larger screen and comfort are primary considerations, since computer users People spend more time online each week in front of a screen, like their mobile counterparts.
