Debrecen – Three thousand people were transported by the fifth flight of Wizz Air Debrecen. Runners can enter distances of 2 and a half, 5 or 10 kilometres. This year, the one-kilometer “Equal Opportunity Race” also started for the first time.

The contestants started with a joint warm-up Sunday morning at the airport. The program was led by fitness instructor Rica Rubin, who moved hundreds of people before the start.

– I started from 5 km, and this is the first time I’ve been here. It motivates me to exercise and run every week, Eva Perro Lukacs said, so the preparation was good.

Competitors can enter several distances individually, with the family, or even at relays. In addition, this year the organizers, with Schaeffler’s support, launched the 1-kilometer “Race of Equality”.

Deputy Mayor Lagos Parksa also started a 5 kilometer run.

– In addition to the special site, today we were also able to address the group of people with disabilities, who can also run and move around with us today. I think there are more and more places to run in Debrecen, explained Lajos Barcsa, as we have been able to build record-breaking running tracks in more and more places, from Tócóvölgy to Csapókert to Józsa.

The competition is becoming more and more popular every year, this year he entered about three thousand different distances. According to the organizers, in addition to promoting a healthy lifestyle and playing sports, the event wears a different theme every year.

– Last year our goal was to unite families and friends after the coronavirus pandemic, and this year we put equal opportunity on our banner and wanted practically everyone who wants to play sports with us to be able to go out on the tarmac.

At the end of the race, the runners can receive a commemorative medal. Almost five thousand people visited the fifth airport Wizz Air Debrecen drivers this time.
